500Position SummaryThe Guest Experience Host (GEH) role welcomes customers to a Townsend Cafe and ensures that each guest (and especially visiting groups) receive a positive customer experience.
The GEH is keen to ANTICIPATE customer needs and RESPOND to those needs efficiently and effectively in way that reflects the values of JAARS and the Guest Services team.
Position Responsibilities Welcome guests to the cafe, including:
answer questions about the menu options; greet guests and help ensure a good customer flow; communicate with the BOH to address a customer need, such as a missing ticket or missing item; assure customers that we are taking care of their orders; make sure group meals are ready to go and orders have been filled properly Set up the food table for groups/teams/events to be served in the cafe; check to see if we have groups/teams/or events and identify what their needs will be; begin to set up their table Communicate any customer needs (such as wrong or missing food items) with the BOH team to ensure they are corrected for the customer Clean, maintain, and restock the drink/condiment area, and guest microwave area; stock up drink/condiment bar area, check on cookie/chips supply, set out tea/juice Maintain the overall Cafe and Kitchen areas' cleanliness and sanitation, including:
take drink dispensers to back for washing; clean up the drink area and guest microwave area; take used trays to the back for washing; help with storing clean dishes Help deliver the right food order out to the right customer and display daily special menu Be on standby to help as cashier with ringing in customer orders, if needed Set up and take down point-of-sale (POS) system and cash drawer; close down the POS system, count cash and do end-of-day activity with the POS Position Requirements A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth Embrace the vision, mission, and core values of JAARS Display the ability to perform the duties listed in the position responsibilities Demonstrate the inter-personal skills to connect with visitors and guests in a welcoming, friendly manner Related guest services experience in casual dining, hospitality, retail, etc.
